Easier said than done!

When in doubt, when under pressure, when stuck in dilemma, ask yourself: How important is your peace of mind to you?   When it gets tough, do you think you should cave? Because, you see, nothing is easy. There is no easy way out. Although it may seem so, it isn't long-lasting.   Your giving in, also tells about you having a weak control on your mind. That is not a crime, but a choice. Control is something you develop and re-develop. But you can develop it only if you decide to go through with it.   There are times when you have two options – one which you want but hard to get. Second, that is easy to get but not your first choice, a choice nonetheless. Let us assume these two options are life-altering for you. You do have this second one, easy choice at the snap of your fingers. It sure can turn to be good for you. But see, you want that first option because you know it IS good for you. It gives you happiness and the life-alteration that you'd get from it is the one you c...

MORTAL’S ORDAIN EXPERIMENT - PART-1

It was a regular Tuesday night and the town was sound asleep. Little did Officer Cal know, that his guard-dog would sniff 'this' out during their routine patrol on the street that night. The dog became restless and started pulling hard on his leash. Cal thought of investigating, he knew he needed to, because the dog wouldn't stop barking. As he was headed towards the lake, he sensed a pungent smell.  The dog discovered a body in the bushes near Lake Solov. Cal was shook to the soul as never in his short career of three years, did he ever encounter a corpse. Somehow he managed to keep his calm. He checked for pulse but couldn't find any. He immediately called for backup and cleared through some bushes. He stepped a little further with only his flashlight and his pal to guide him along. There, he stumbled across what appeared to be an identity card. It was one, but it didn’t have what any card always has- a name. The card had on it, a passport sized photo, probably of the...

Desperation

Reyaan was not sleeping well past few days. Although, it wasn't unusual for him to stay up all night, scroll instagram, like a few posts, share a few jokes and maybe chat someone up once in a while. Tonight too, he was going about this little routine when suddenly he stumbled across a post with a critical quote. Suddenly, it made sense, as he could relate to what he read. He was unsure about what he was feeling and why. His mind was unstable because he had lost the ability to put a name to his thought.  It was past midnight and he was under sheets when he suddenly burst into tears without knowing why. He had a lot of friends, a handful close ones who he knew were always there by his side. He thus ruled them out of being the cause behind his tears. He did not have a lover since high school. As soon as that fact passed his mind, he felt his heart getting heavy. "Why am I a failure? Why am I not loved? Why don't I have a shoulder to cry upon?" He began to find someone to...

selfish

They said, let bygones be bygones, and some treat you worth a penny Some stay on, to look at, what you made out of destiny.. They say it's not what you think, and yet run around with scenes of their incomparably boring copyrighted movie.. They ask you to behave, and to learn what not to do, so that you don't land up there, where you got yourself into, saying: we don't want that again now, do we? You now want to punch them hard, or maybe use a guard, while also thinking why just even bother.. The extremes of it all, the storms of emotions, maybe get you back to spill it out in some way, or other! Reading all this stuff, would make them wanna ask, whom you had on your mind, when you wrote this undersigned.. Giving themselves much importance and some unashamed daring, they'd say it's surely for me, or probably for Stalin But you'll always know who it's for, oh it's really a catch, a hint will be that, their good name starts with 'self' and sweet sur...

a text!

I was doing totally fine, then came your text which spelt just a name - mine! A complete sentence would have calmed me down but you shook my soul, heavied my breath and made my heart drown! Don't yet know what our future tells, but hey, it was hard digesting your love for someone else!

Questioned

Questioned my type, questioned my vibe, I didn't forestall, of course you must be right! Never were you curious about how my day went, A part of me said, why's the need, it was a day well spent! I told you that day, with you, I feel blessed All you did utter is how my life was messed! But you held my hand, while on the streets That's one gesture of love, I said, I hope he repeats! You are too much to handle, please don't overwhelm me, We are in separate boats I agree,  Mine is for ocean and your is for sea.. Shruti Vighne
